Where Different Came Together!

On the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Custodians of Naarm (Melbourne), we held Doing School Differently 2026 – and what an incredible gathering it was.

With more than 900 delegates (our largest gathering so far), an inspiring line-up of main session speakers, and over 60 presentations across the two days, we are so grateful for the support, energy and generosity of our vibrant flexible and inclusive education sector.

Doing School Differently continues to be the pre-eminent Australian conference for educators, youth workers, researchers, policy makers, community organisations and young people who are committed to developing and sustaining successful educational opportunities and pathways for young people who have experienced barriers to education.
