- Profile
The YES program at Port Augusta Secondary School is based upon the idea that there are many ways and places that learning can occur and that mainstream education is not for everyone. YES provides the opportunity for students who have not been successful in the traditional classroom to complete their education.
YES has ongoing flexible enrolments and a personalised learning approach. YES operates as a ‘school within a school’ with its own time table and broad and diverse curriculum offerings from years 8 to 13. These integrate with the wider school community allowing students to engage on different levels with the program as needs require or emerge.
YES is a universal service within which more targeted and specialist services and support are embedded. All students at PASS may enrol in a subject, access a wellbeing service, and utilise the space at break times. YES supports students who enrol later in the SACE semester/year; have returned to school after extended absence or leaving school; or may need some additional credits to gain their SACE.
YES programs aim to engage students with learning and create pathways into education, work and training that are personalised and flexible to cater for different student needs.
