All Separate Unit or School

A community VCAL program providing Foundation and Intermediate VCAL for students who are disengaged from school. Students undertake a VET subject in either Business, Hairdressing, Automobile or Building and Construction. We have a strong pastoral care focus and the ability to refer students to services as required.

This program is a partnership program with Frankston Mornington Peninsula Local Learning & Employment Network Inc. (FMPLLEN) as the lead agency and is funded through the Communities for Children program. The mission of FMPLLEN is to improve education, training and employment outcomes for vulnerable and at risk youth in the Frankston Mornington Peninsula Region. The program has the children in the classroom and supported by the Family Support Worker and the Early Childhood Educator.

SJFLC offers an inclusive and non-discriminating learning community to young people, who for a variety of reasons, are disenfranchised from mainstream education. Young people are enrolled from a variety of genders, sexualities, language, cultural and religious backgrounds, with particular sensitivity to indigenous culture and from backgrounds of socio-economic disadvantage.

In year levels 7-10, an integrated learning approach is applied and utilises the capabilities and five key domains from the Victorian Curriculum. Young people enrolled in Senior School participate in the accredited Victorian Certificate of Education (VCAL). In addition, young people also participate in Vocational Education and Training (VET) opportunities which provide meaningful work experiences to equip our young people with the skills they will require as they transition into further study or work pathways.

Arcadia College is a co-educational secondary school offering a safe, inclusive and future-focused educational and well-being program. As a special assistance school, we cater for a diverse range of students’ learning, emotional, psychological and physical needs, in order to give our students the best opportunity to build their future pathways and lives.

Girls only school years 7-12. Carinity provides flexible learning within an independent christian school environment. Each grade has small classes that have a youth worker in and out of the classroom, trauma informed trained teachers, case management.

The college delivers the Pirlirrpa Education Program at a campus adjoining the college. This unique and flexible education program offers a range of subjects with a focus on work skills and work placements, yielding excellent outcomes.

The Hemmant Flexible Learning Centre (HFLC) has been established in consultation with the local community to support young people disengaged from mainstream schooling. Typically young people attending are high school aged, 13-17 yrs.

The concept of “common ground” applies to all who choose to participate in a EREAFSN FLC. Adults and young people alike commit to participate in a learning environment that is democratic, relational and operates through key principles.

Toogoolawa School is for boys Year 3-10 who find it too difficult to function in mainstream schools, particularly boys who feel overwhelmed by large numbers of students and who respond better to small groups.
