Young Families Connect is a program based on a vision of Education which embraces the needs, hopes and aspirations of young Pregnant and Parenting young people and their children across the state of QLD. The YFC Program is available for pregnant and parenting young people under 24 years of age. It provides links with external agencies for local advocacy and support whilst offering flexible curriculum delivery leading to the completion of a Queensland Certificate of Education and Certified Competency-Based Training. Educational pathway plans and additional supports are uniquely designed for each student in addition to the opportunities to young parents locally. Regardless of location or circumstances, all young pregnant and parenting people have the opportunity to succeed through the YFC Program. Students will develop the necessary skills and personal capabilities needed to become employable, thereby assisting students to become financially independent.

WAVE offers two FLO programs under the auspices of Warrnambool College and accepting students from surrounding schools. We have a junior program covering the Victorian Curriculum for students in years 7-9/10. As a compliment to the junior program WAVE also offers a senior program delivering VPC for students in years 10-12. Our junior program is designed to be a 6 month program with the aim of students returning to their home school after the 6 month placement. Our senior program is designed to allow our students to complete their senior school pathway and be prepared for a workplace transition.

Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a specific purpose state high school that specialises in supporting young people aged 15 to 18 years (minimum year 10), that face significant barriers to attending mainstream education. Our vision, “By inspiring belief, fostering respect and building unity, QPSC students can achieve success”. We offer a 12-month senior transitions program at QPSC. Our curriculum focus is literacy, numeracy, workplace skills and wellbeing, To complement our curriculum, students are encouraged to participate in additional learning through Vet in School options (VETiS), work experience, university taster courses and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our strength-based approach to education, ensures all our students have their pathway to a Queensland Certificate to Education (QCE) individually mapped and their transition pathway at the completion of their program will include further education or employment.

Katherine Flexible Learning and Engagement Centre (KFLEC) is an annex of the Katherine High School located in Katherine South. KFLEC offers a tailored curriculum that focuses on the individual needs of students experiencing a range of vulnerabilities or additional needs. KFLEC focuses on preparing students for re-engagement with mainstream education or entry into the workforce through apprenticeship, traineeship and certificate courses. KFLEC contributes to the delivery of Katherine High School’s commitment to every person, every opportunity by providing literacy, numeracy and social supports to students with additional needs.

CaRE School connected to The Y WA. Offering alternative pathways through Year 10, 11 & 12: – WACE Pathway – Uni Prep – Vocational Certificates (via School Based Traineeships) Personal support through connection with Youth Workers and Counsellors.
