Holy Spirit College is a unique environment being the first Catholic school of its kind in Far North Queensland; we provide individual education for disengaged secondary aged young people. The mentors offer a wide range of project based learning and core subjects. The campus offers programs for day and boarding. The boarders have a choice of being in residence on a full-time or weekly basis. The purpose of weekly boarding is to allow young people the opportunity to concentrate on their learning and develop friendships during the week, while keeping in close contact with their families and communities on weekends. Also, weekly boarding appeals especially to young people who wish to join a school but who live too far away to be day pupils.

Campbell High School acknowledges the richness and contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in Australia and in our school. Our Warrumbul Centre and attached refurbished quad is a gathering place for students and staff. Designed deliberately to allow for a deeper enrichment and connection to Country and Culture. The centre provides indigenous students with tailored and personalised learning programs across the key learning areas whilst maintaining an indigenous perspective focus. Student outcomes benefit from targeted teaching strategies, smaller class sizes, and a learning environment that encourages collaboration, personal success and connectedness.

The YES program is based upon the idea that there are many ways and places that learning can occur and that mainstream education is not for everyone. YES operates as a ‘school within a school’ with its own time table and broad and diverse curriculum offerings from years 8 to 13.

At Prace College, we expose our students to a variety of industries through work placements, projects, career quizzes, Real Industry Job Interviews (RIJI) and trade tasters. Student support is achieved through informal conversations with the student about current hobbies, past interests and future dreams. And, our teachers also play a role in helping to guide students in deciding on potential pathways when they leave PRACE College. Over time, student insights are collated in a Career Action Plan – a roadmap for the student to follow as they start looking towards a future career.

The Young Parents Education Program (YPEP) offers pregnant teens and young parents the opportunity to complete their education in the flexible learning environment. The students students work to obtain a Year 12 qualification, a Certificate 2 industry qualification and pathways plan to smoothly transition to further education, training or employment. Students are encouraged to bring their babies to class with them, and a fully-qualified child care support worker will be onsite during each class to assist with care.

The Bendigo Flexible Learning Option (BFLO) is administered by Weeroona College Bendigo on behalf of the five Bendigo Government Secondary Colleges and Kalianna Special School. BFLO provides specialised support to secondary school-aged youth, who are enrolled in one of Bendigo’s government secondary schools, but are at risk of not completing schooling. BFLO supports these students to get back on-track with schooling.

At Flourish, we specialise in helping young people with diverse learning and support needs, supporting home schoolers and arranging flexible enrolment solutions with local, primary, high schools.

Katherine Flexible Learning and Engagement Centre (KFLEC) is an annex of the Katherine High School. KFLEC offers a tailored curriculum that focuses on the individual needs of students experiencing a range of vulnerabilities or additional needs. KFLEC focuses on preparing students for re-engagement with mainstream education or entry into the workforce through apprenticeship, traineeship and certificate courses.

We work in partnership with schools to teach the kids who are on their register but are either on FLO (or the post-FLO alternative), or simply are school refusers. We also run a cohort of homeschoolers through their SACE in partnership with Open Access College. We also sell subscriptions to the platform to homeschooling parents who wish to teach their kids themselves.
